Easter Half Term At The Hazlitt Theatre

25th Mar - 27th Apr

As we step into the Easter Half Term, we are looking forward to a Spring full of family fun and community theatre! From Lewis’ Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland on stage to the Maidstone Scouts bi-annual showcase, there is something for everyone in the family coming soon at The Hazlitt Theatre.

Why not spend Half Term in Wonderland? Don’t miss Immersion Theatre’s award-winning musical production of Alice in Wonderland on 2 April. Follow Alice and the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole in this topsy-turvy tale - you’d be mad to miss it!

Or introduce the kids to the magic of musicals with the returning Dreamcoat Stars! Join the West End cast and young local choirs for a spectacular evening of musical magic - now with an added matinee performance. Hear the hits of Les Misérables, Hairspray, Jersey Boys and more! We are especially excited to welcome back Any Dream Will Do star Keith Jack, who starred in our very own 2013 pantomime, Dick Wittington

But that’s not all we have for music fans this month, with From Gold to Rio: The Greatest Hits of Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran coming on 20 April. Performed by a full eight-piece band of acclaimed musicians, both bands are brought together for the ultimate 80’s music experience!

And to complete the busy month, we are looking forward to hosting two of our returning community groups. Maidstone Scouts will be back on 9-13th April with their bi-annual Gang Show, which has been at home at the Hazlitt since 1970! With chart-topping hits, comedy sketches and dance throughout, this variety show is performed by a cast of over 75 young people from the age of 8 together with adult leaders, all from Maidstone Scouting.  Only happening once every two years, this is a week of entertainment you won’t want to miss!

The Willington Players will follow with their gripping new production of Witness For The Prosecution on 23-27 April. In Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery, Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a rich widow. The stakes are high with shocking witness testimony, impassioned outbursts from the dock and a young man’s fight to escape the hangman’s noose.  End the month with this suspenseful thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very end.
