The Big Readcycle

From 2 June, customers will be able to donate their pre-loved books at collection points located in WHSmith stores across the country in exchange for a 25% discount voucher to spend on books at any WHSmith high street store – perfect timing to stock up on those essential holiday reads.  Customers donating books within the WHSmith stores will also have the opportunity to get involved with the store teams’ fundraising activities and raise even more money for such a vital cause.  So, as we roll into summer, why not take the opportunity to clear your book shelves of pre-loved books in order to make way for some great, new summer reads, knowing you’re supporting such a worthwhile cause.

Wood Green Store Manager, Gary Edward, commented: “WHSmith is committed to making a positive impact wherever it operates its stores and we are really excited to have the opportunity once again to support Marie Curie and help raise awareness of their important work. We encourage customers old and new to visit our store, donate their books and claim their 25% off voucher towards a new, exciting summer read.”

The pre-loved books will be sold across the 190 Marie Curie stores in the UK, with all monies raised from the sale of the books contributing to the ongoing, incredible work Marie Curie provides on a daily basis to people with terminal illnesses and their families.

Marie Curie offer expert care, guidance and support to help people get the most from the time they have left. It costs £20 to provide an hour of nursing, which makes every book donated very important. Marie Curie nurses work day and night to provide care in both people’s homes and in Marie Curie hospices across the UK.
