Family Fun in Maidstone with the Summer Spike Hunt

Families are in for a fun-filled adventure this summer as they hunt for Spike the Dinosaur hidden in businesses across Maidstone Town Centre!

 From 19th July to 31st August, everyone is invited to explore the town and spot 20 hidden Spike soft toys in local businesses as part of the Summer Spike Hunt.

 Organised by One Maidstone BID, in collaboration with Maidstone Borough Council and Maidstone Museum, the hunt is a free, family-friendly activity aimed at encouraging exploration of the town centre during the summer holidays.

 Simply search for the cuddly Spikes inside cafes, shops, banks, shopping centres and more and

scan the QR code provided to submit your answers online. Those who find all 20 Spikes will be entered into a prize draw to win their very own Spike soft toy to take home!

 “We’re really excited to bring Spike to Maidstone this summer,” says Michelle Woodland, CEO at One Maidstone. “It’s a great way to get families out and about, exploring the town and supporting local businesses — all while having fun.”

 Natalie Moor, Museums and Heritage Manager for Maidstone Borough Council said: “We’re thrilled to be part of the Summer Spike Hunt. Spike has become a much-loved character for local families, and this trail is a brilliant way to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and bring a little museum magic into the heart of the town.”

Cllr  Stephen Thompson, Cabinet Member for Healthier, Stronger Communities at Maidstone Borough Council, added:

Look out for posters and clues in windows, and don’t forget to scan the QR code to enter the draw once you’ve spotted them all!
