World Gin Day or Gin Day, which takes place on the second Saturday of June, is an annual ode to the juniper-flavoured spirit and brings people from around the world together to revel in its aromatic pleasures and rich history.

Rhubarb & Custard Cocktail 

Ingredients
Vanilla syrup 6 tsp
Rhubarb gin 4 tbsp
Sparkling white grape juice 300ml (½ pint), chilled
Ice cubes to serve
Instructions
1 Put 3 teaspoons vanilla syrup and 2 tablespoons rhubarb gin into two glasses. Mix well.
2 Pour 150ml (¼ pint) grape juice into each glass, stir and serve with ice.
Cook’s Tips
For a non-alcoholic cocktail, gently poach 2 sticks of rhubarb with caster sugar, cool and use strained juice instead of gin.
