The Position

42.5 hours per week

Our Civil Enforcement Officers are the eyes and ears of the local community, patrolling car parks and streets  to ensure compliance and ensure the free movement of traffic and also providing advice to members of the public, whist enforcing road traffic orders, checking equipment availability and function, inspecting the condition of lines and signs reporting any defects and taking enforcement action when warranted.

 

Your day will be spent, mostly outside, in all weathers, patrolling streets and car parks, so please consider this before you apply. You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations.

 

Due to the nature of the role, we are seeking candidates who live in and around Maidstone, or happy to relocate here.

We have permanent full time positions available, with various shifts including Days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

This role offers a high degree of variety and the opportunity to utilise your training whilst working under your own initiative.

 

You must enjoy dealing with people, be friendly, polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. Basic PC skills would also be an advantage, as you will be using a hand held computer device daily. You will be deployed from our town centre base, however you may be required to drive or cycle , so a full UK license and / or willingness to cycle is preferable.
