SUMMER SOUNDS GREAT AT THE MALL WOOD GREEN

Worried about how you’re going to fill the six-week summer holiday and looking for some low-cost activities to do with the kids? We’ve got lots going on at the Centre over July and August, including our FREE Summer Soundwave, which will be running throughout the school holidays. Let the rhythm take over as you explore our musical playground, join our interactive music trail and feel the beat at RecFest, Wood Green’s very own music festival.

Mini Maestros Trail

Feel the vibes as you embark on a magical, musical adventure around The Mall. A fun, family activity for all ages, join our trail to search for hidden musical clues throughout the centre and you could get your hands on some incredible prizes. If you’re jetting off overseas for a couple of weeks and are worried about missing out, the Mini Maestros Trail will be taking place every day from 26 July until 31 August.

Musical Playground

Have you got a musical family or a popstar in the making? Let them unleash their inner musician at the City Square Musical Playground. This is their opportunity to get hands-on with giant instruments, strike a pose with fun musical props, and show fellow guests their star quality. There will also be surprise pop-up performances from a talented cast of local musicians. Please note, the Musical Playground will be closed from 15-17 August while we host RecFest.

RecFest returns

Music lovers rejoice – RecFest is back and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before! Join us on Saturday 16 August from 10.30am-11pm for a free music and culture festival, organised by TheRecordShop.

This all-day, multi-space event celebrates community, creativity and emerging talent (all the things we love) with live performances from local and global up-and-coming artists & DJs, creative activities such as face painting and hair braiding, interactive workshops, panel discussions and food and market stalls. Dip in and out or stay all day, its definitely one for your diary!

Must-see summer movies

Not into music but LOVE movies, there are some fabulous films out this summer, so make sure a Cineworld trip is on your summer to-do list.

We all know how difficult is to keep the kids cool when it’s hot outside and sheltered when it’s wet, but we’re talking serious temperature-controlled entertainment here. Whatever the weather, the cinema is always the perfect pastime

The seventh installment in the Jurassic franchise and a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion, Jurassic World: Rebirth, is one for all the dino lovers out there. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Rupert Friend and Jonathan Bailey, it follows a team of scientists on a top-secret mission to the remote, tropical island of Ile Saint-Hubert and is one to watch.

Or if your crew prefers dragons to dinosaurs, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is another great family flick. A live-action remake of the 2010 animated film, it’s based on the bestselling novel by Cressida Cowell and is already getting great reviews.

It’s a brilliant summer for comic-based films. Marvel devotees, save the date, Fantastic Four: First Steps is out on 25 July, while the new Superman movie starring David Corenswet lands at Cineworld on 11 July.

For younger kids (and tired parents) who would like something a little gentler, The Smurfs are back on the big screen soon with a musical adventure starring Rihanna as Smurfette.

Up the fun factor

If you’re looking for FUN this summer, Tee’s Game Factory is the place to be. The newest member of The Mall Wood Green’s family, Tee’s is a brand-new, indoor amusement park, which opened its doors at the end of June. Located on the Upper Mall next to Cineworld, it’s a vibrant, all-in-one destination that brings together the thrill of amusement games with the joy of great desserts and food. Come and connect with friends and create wonderful summer memories in an alcohol and gambling-free environment.

As well as children's interactive games, a 360 Photo Booth, a Magic Photo booth, arcade machines and modern video games, there are interactive experiences, air hockey, crazy basketball, a bowling machine, boxing punch machines and the very new Interactive Grid with 20+ thrilling levels. Friday nights will never be the same again!!

Alongside the fun, Tee’s serves up a gorgeous selection of indulgent desserts including viral ice-cream rolls, crepes, sundaes and the famous Strawberry Pistachio Kunafa. Go on, you know you want to!

Treat Time

Whether you’re team sweet or team savoury, holiday treats are always a terrific idea. And if you can’t decide which way to go, Mr Pretzels serves freshly baked pretzels while you wait, with a variety of different toppings (btw you get 10% off with our RewardME card so make sure you’ve signed up for one).

It wouldn’t be summer without something cool and Moodog sells lovely soft-serve ice cream, which tastes even better when it’s covered in rainbow sprinkles. If your gang prefers pancakes, then head to Charlie’s for brunch where you’ll get a stack of the finest with a topping of your choice.

Craving a burger? We’ve got Wendy’s, Five Guys and Burger King to choose from. Or if it’s just fries you’re after (and sometimes only fries will do), Awesome Chips always delivers. For something spicier try Wingstop, Shah’s Halal Food, Momo’s or Samosa Haus. Whatever your food mood, we’ve got choices!

Looking for sips not snacks? We can guarantee your lot will love a bubble tea from Big Boba or MooBoo, where you get 10% off all full-priced items with our RewardME card.
