Meet the Market Hall Community

Looking for a gift, searching for something for your home or need an urgent repair, we’ve got seven brilliant Market Hall retailers who’ll be able to help.

Big Value

A mainstay of the Market Hall for 22 years, Big Value changed hands two years ago and is now run by the Kapoor family. It sells a huge range of homeware and kitchenware, with the saucepans and cooking utensils being bestsellers. A real treasure trove of household goods, the prices are extremely reasonable, the staff are super helpful, and they always give great customer service.

Neil Electrics

Another of our longstanding retailers, Kish and Roma have been running Neil Electrics for over 30 years. Much like Harry Potter, the duo started out in a tiny cupboard under the stairs but then expanded into a bigger unit in 1995 when the Market Hall was refurbished. An Aladdin’s cave of electricals, they have over 500 types of vacuum bags in stock and specialise in light bulbs, batteries, heaters, fans, cables, DIY products and vacuum cleaner spares.

The fabulous team includes qualified engineers, who are trained to carry out repairs to all makes of vacuum cleaners, as well as lamps, audio equipment and even Nutribullets!

Perfect Carpets

One of our most popular retailers that runs on regular, repeat business (check out their customer testimonials if you don’t believe us), Perfect Carpets has made the Market Hall its home for the last nine years. Owned by Ahmed Khan, it supplies and fits all kinds of different carpets, laminate, and vinyls and specialises in rental properties, with its bestseller being the bleach cleanable twist carpet, which is designed for heavy traffic and has built-in stain protection.

As well as working with commercial and rental properties, Perfect Carpets undertakes bespoke projects, so if you need something special like a runner or stair rod, give them a shout.

Discount Rugs and Carpets

Run by the Chopra family, Discount Rugs and Carpets has been trading at The Mall for the last 11 years. They sell a brilliant range of bargain carpets, rugs, curtains and home furnishings, so you can get your house looking stylish and coordinated without having to break the bank.

Anne’s Florist

The lovely Anne Camacho has been selling flowers for all occasions at The Mall for 32 years. She started out as a secretary but retrained as a florist when her children were younger so she could run her own business alongside raising a family.

Although Anne is based in our busy Market Hall, providing flowers for weddings and funerals, which she loves, you might’ve seen her pop up in City Square in the run-up to big events like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. She also sells an amazing range of celebratory gifts and balloons, so make sure you pay her a visit next time you’ve got a special event.

Arabian Desire

A family business, run by Nazrul Islam, Arabian Desire started in neighbouring Enfield and expanded to Wood Green – aren’t we lucky?!

The stall sells a wide range of incense, beauty products, Islamic goods, clothing and perfumes imported from Dubai, including oud, which is hugely popular with shoppers.

We asked Nazrul for his best piece of business advice and he said: “Make yourself part of the community around you.” We couldn’t agree more! And that’s why our Market Hall is so successful.

The Card Shop

Local owner (from down the road in Tottenham), Tracy Prior has worked at The Card Shop for 43 years. In fact, she loves it so much that she bought the business 15 years ago!! As well as cards and all sorts of partyware, she expanded her range to include balloons, which are super popular with customers.

“Everyone loves an Instagram moment,” explained Tracy and we couldn’t agree more.

If you’re celebrating a birthday or planning a party, make sure you head straight to The Card Shop!
