Father’s Day is on Sunday 15 June this year, which feels a little earlier than usual. It’s been a glorious spring so far and summer’s on its way so we’ve been out and about in B&M looking at great gifts for the garden – perfect for the dads that are passionate about their lawn stripes or those that simply enjoy a potter. For the dad that’s into sport, we’d recommend a trip to JD. The store is looking great after its recent refit and there’s loads of choice, so no matter what your budget is or what his hobbies are, we can guarantee you’ll find something that’s right for your father – whether that’s a water bottle, weights or some new socks. And if he’s a football dad, now might be a good time to get a shirt from his favourite team at a reduced price – or pre-order the new season kit with a promise note!
Presents that pop
Make your dad feel extra special this year and create an Instagrammable moment (because he’s worth it) with a brilliant balloon (or bunch of balloons) from The Card Store in our thriving Market Hall. Run by the lovely Tracy, she’s got a huge range of helium balloons for every occasion and will create something fabulous for you father. And while you’re there, don’t forget to grab a Father’s Day card – the clue’s in the name!!

Whether your dad’s a fashionista and loves his clothes or needs a little help in that department, a new tee or summer shirt’s always an awesome idea – and we are loving the current men’s trends. At The Mall, there’s so much choice (quite literally – our Choice store is always a big hit with the dads) with lots of marvellous menswear retailers, including H&M, TK Maxx, Primark, Mush and River Island, so you can have a good old browse and find something that feels just right and is in your price range.

Food and film
Two things that most dads love – why not combine them into a Father’s Day trip he’ll remember and want to repeat year on year? Cineworld has got some must-watch movies on at the moment or out soon, including Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and How to Train Your Dragon. And then of course there’s the Peppa Pig movie, which would be a cute dad and toddler movie for any mums buying their hubbies a gift.
As for food, grab a quick bite at The Bridge, go all-out on a Turkish meal for two at Kervan Sofrasi, or give in to temptation and enjoy a burger at Wendy’s or Five Guys.
Perky present
Coffee-inspired gifts are always a winner and you’ll be spoilt for choice at The Mall with Costa, Pret and Chaiiwala. Coffee cards are good for dads on the run and Costa has a wonderful range of mugs, reusable cups, syrups and coffee pods.
