North Harringay takes over The Mall!

29th Sep - 30th Nov

Pupils from North Harringay Primary School in North London took over the reins at The Mall Wood Green on Thursday 29th September.

The ‘Takeover Day’ was all part of a national scheme backed by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner which invites students to shadow professionals and see what is involved in the day to day running of a business.

19 children, aged between 10 and 11, from North Harringay Primary’s Willow class were given an opportunity to work alongside members of the management, marketing and security teams and learn about the daily running of The Mall.

Isaiah Fapuro, Marketing Manager at The Mall Wood Green, commented:

“It was a great day as we were able to give children an opportunity to experience the world of work. We hope this will help them understand what they want to do in life when they leave school. It also gave us a chance to listen to their ideas and is a great way for us to become more involved with the local schools as we pride ourselves on being part of the Haringey community.”

One of the pupils that took part in the Takeover Day, Mya, aged 10, added:

“My favourite part was working with the security team. I didn’t know there was so much technology involved in their job!”

Haringey or Enfield based schools that would like to take part in next year’s Takeover Day should register their interest by e-mailing isaiah.fapuro@themall.co.uk.
