Whether you’re buying for partner, a gal pal or even for yourself, there’s something to suit everyone’s style and let’s face it, lingerie is always guaranteed to get hearts racing.

If nothing comes close to the love you feel for your pet, then we know just the place to go. Card Factory has a pawsome collection of pet presents, which are hard to resist. Planning the perfect night out is possibly even more romantic than buying a sweet gift, and nothing says date night quite like a cinema trip. You could even go old school and book seats on the back row. The new ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ film is out on 13 February, just in time for Valentine’s Day, so pop down to Cineworld and get your tickets now. Why not make a proper night of it and add a meal at Kervan Sofrasi or grab a bite to eat at The Bridge first?

It’s quite simple – candles = romance and lots of our lovely retailers, including TK Maxx, Primark and Card Factory, sell them. A large, fragranced candle would make a gorgeous, standalone gift or why not buy lots of little candles or tealights and set the scene for a romantic evening at home.

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without fizz – and a bottle of the good stuff is always a great idea for the special man in your life, because we all know that men can be difficult to buy for. Add a little extra romance by making it a pink fizz and why not throw in a box of truffles too. If you’re watching the pennies after an expensive Christmas and a long January, then it doesn’t need to be champagne, Prosecco and Cava are just as lovely too.
