Update: 26th July

Following the fire at The Mall on Monday we are very pleased to announce that that the first units have reopened safely this morning. Please note however that the car park remains closed.

Lloyds Bank and Peacocks have been given the go ahead to open due to their external location on the High Street and following the completion of the necessary safety and security checks by the structural engineers.

We are hopeful that the other retailers that face onto the High Street will also be able to open in the coming days, dependent on their individual circumstances. We have appointed a specialist cleaning team, who are undertaking a deep clean of the accessible areas of the centre to facilitate this first phase of openings.

We are also in the process of putting in place a phased opening strategy for the rest of the centre. Our overriding aim continues to be to ensure that the centre is open for trading as usual as soon as possible. However, as mentioned previously, it is too early at this stage to be definitive on what these phases will be and when they will be open.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the local community and all our stakeholders for their ongoing patience and understanding at this difficult time.

Update: 24th July

Selborne road is now open. The Mall and car park remains closed, however are working hard to reopen some of our stores in the coming days.

Update: 23rd July

Dear people of Walthamstow - this is a very quick message of thanks from us.

We've been inundated with messages of support through what has been a very difficult and upsetting day. Your lovely words have kept us going, and brought a smile to our faces. We're very lucky to be part of such a wonderful community. We're working hard to get things back to normal, so we can keep on serving the fantastic people of Walthamstow.

From all of us, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The Mall Walthamstow Team

Update: 23rd July

We can confirm that a fire broke out in part of centre on Monday 22nd July. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident and we are enormously grateful to the London Fire Brigade for their efforts in bringing the fire under control.

It is not yet known what caused the fire and the area is currently being examined by the Fire Brigade, Police and representatives of Walthamstow Council to ensure it is safe. Once this process is complete, we will be able to properly assess the damage and determine which parts of the centre can be reopened and when.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to getting back up and running as soon as possible.
