The Mall’s community podcast ‘Luton Life’ joins in with the first ever Pride in Luton event, in its 50th year supporting community life and the 50th year since the UK’s first pride parade.
To mark the end of Pride Month, the latest episode of Luton Life sees host Sophie Sulehria meet the organisers responsible for the behind the scenes coordination of the event and headed down to the event itself to speak to educators, musicians and many of those simply keen be a part of history for the town.
The event, hosted by Pride in Luton and supported by Luton Culture Trust, took over the Hat District on Saturday 25th June and served as a way to recognise the triumphs and tragedies of the LGBTQ+ community in their long battle for equality.
With such an array of huge array of talent, various educators within the main exhibition room and youth zones to explore, this episode features many of the voices that Pride directly impacts and highlights the importance of these community events.
