Walthamstow Toy Libray Charity Partner

2nd Feb - 31st Dec

Walthamstow Toy Library and Play Centre secured first place in an online poll by The Mall in Walthamstow to find a charity for their 2016 Mall Cares campaign.

The Mall Walthamstow will raise money throughout the year, with a series of events and fundraising activities to be donated to the much loved local charity.

Walthamstow Toy Library and Play Centre is an educational charity which provides babies and children under the age of five with a stimulating and creative learning environment, through structured play sessions, as well as offering toys for play and learning for parents and carers to use at home.

If your interested in helping the Toy Library there's two easy ways:

The below link will take you to the Aviva community fund where the Toy Library have applied to get funding for their proposed ‘Play Around’ project, which aims to loan high quality toys to the most deprived families living in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The money will pay for a dedicated toy librarian who will be employed for 12 hours a week to oversee the running of the mobile toy library for parents/carers with children aged under 5. In partnership with Waltham Forest Community Transport (charity #1048701) we will visit housing estates and community groups in the borough. Waltham Forest has a younger than average population with 22% of residents being aged 0 to 15, with an estimated 22,100 residents aged between 0-4 years of age. According to an estimate by the Campaign to End Child Poverty, 23% of children (before housing costs are factored in) and 35% (after housing costs) were living in poverty as of late 2013
