What's on - The Mall Monster played Easter bunny
Egg-citment all round.
From the 3rd of March, The Mall Romford asked shoppers to spring into action and give a little bit egg-stra to ensure even the eldest members of the local community has an Easter to remember.
The appeal has been running in the centre since 2005 and has so far has collected over 1000 chocolate treats, thanks to generous shoppers and The Malls retailers.
This year the appeal focused on bringing a little egg -citment to the elderly of Havering. Sarah de Courcy Rolls - marketing manager of the Mall said "People always seem to associate Easter with children, so this year we wanted to give our eggs to the people in the community that would benefit the most from our visit. We decided to reach out to those who don't have the chance to enjoy Easter or have support of friends and family like children do. For most, the visit alone is enough to make their day that little bit different and more enjoyable, so by delivering the eggs personally, to each elderly person we are showing that the community still cares and that they have not been forgotten. Let's not forget Easter is really about celebrating life and everyone loves chocolate."
Simply by asking shoppers to pick up an additional chocolate egg when they're out shopping and drop it into the giant Egg pod at the centre's Ask Me Point, we have already collected in excess of 150eggs to deliver to residents of our local care homes.
The Mall also encouraged shoppers to write an Easter message for £1 on our Mall Cares message board. All donations will be divided between our 2 local Mall cares charities First Step and Little Havens Hospice.
A Big Thank You goes to All our Shoppers and Retailers who donated.
