What's on - THE MALL LUTON MODELSEARCH RETURNS

On Saturday 7 August Model Scouts will be at The Mall Luton looking for locals who would be just as at home walking down a catwalk as browsing the stores. Those who would like a chance to pout and pose for the cameras should come along from 11am to 3pm to fill out an entry form and have a quick test shot taken. Those under 16 should bring a parent/guardian or pre filled parental consent form from the newspaper.

The competition is open to those aged four and upwards of both sexes and will culminate in a day of fully choreographed fashion shows taking place at the Mall Luton. Initially, potential models will be asked back for heats taking place on Saturday, 4 September. From this, the lucky twenty five will be selected for rehearsals ready for the fashion shows that take place on Saturday, 18 September when the overall winners will also be selected.

For those who can't make it to The Mall Luton for the scouting day they can still enter by using the form which appears weekly in the Luton & Dunstable Express and sending one full length and one head shot photo of themselves before the closing date on Friday, 20 August.

"Contrary to popular belief the modelling agencies are actually looking for all sorts of looks for the growing diversity of modelling jobs out there", says Lavinia Holland of The Mall. Lavinia continued, "We have exciting fashion collections for all sizes at The Mall, so we obviously need to recruit models to match and present the outfits and this means looking for the mature and sophisticated lady along side tiny tots and trendy teens.

The free to enter competition has a number of categories:

• 4-6 yrs
• 7-10yrs
• 11-15yrs
• 16yrs and over adults with no upper age limit!
• plus size category

One of last year's most successful models was six year old Sirikorn Perkins from Luton, who has already been modelling extensively for Matalan. Sirikorn was the winner of the Truly Scrumptious Child Model Agency placement.

Prizes this year will be a years model placement with Truly Scrumptious Child Model Agency for either one male or one female from the 4 - 15 age groups and either one male or one female contestant from the adult categories will win a test photoshoot from Sandra Reynolds Model Agency.
