What's on - Childrens Centre's new drop-in service officially launch Wednesday 1st September

25 August, 2010

On Wednesday 1st September the Children's Centre in The Mall Luton will officially open its new drop in centre.

The drop-in centre will be a safe, stimulating area separate from the main day-care centre and is a place where mums, dad's and other carers with children under 5 can meet. Parents and carers must remain with the children whilst they play however the children's centre staff are on hand to offer a listening ear and act as a source of information, as well to direct child play.

The drop-in centre was originally located within the nursery but has now moved to its own separate unit. This is divided into two, with the first being their new training room where parents will be able to take part in activities such as baby massage, parenting courses, first aid plus there are plans to start a cookery club in the near future, whilst the other part is dedicated to daily stay and play, music sessions, crafts and other creative activities.

The launch will commence at 10am and entertainment will include music and dance with Jo Jingles, a visit from Derek the Dragon and the Mall Monster plus the opportunity to try some delicious healthy snacks. The drop-in centre will also be giving out balloons and goody bags.

All-in-all a stimulating and fun day out for parents and their little ones, so pop down to The Mall Luton on 1st September.
