What's on - Lush arrives in Luton

Shoppers from The Mall Luton will be delighted to hear that Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics will be opening in The Mall Luton on Friday 23rd July 2010, and all shoppers are invited to celebrate at a scent-sational launch party! From 11am there will be drinks, nibbles, goodie bags, free hair and skin consultations, hand massages, in-store competitions, goody bags and much more for all those that attend.

The opening of this Lush store in Luton will be Lush's 90th shop in the UK, taking the number of shops worldwide to over 675.

The self-appointed cosmetics grocer is the ultimate beauty delicatessen. With handmade, natural and fresh merchandise, it offers Luton shoppers a completely new shopping experience at The Mall Luton. Popular products and aspects of the store include large rounds of soap, a myriad of orbs (fizzing bath ballistics) that are presented in-store like perfectly round apples, prices by weight, greaseproof paper wrapping (if any wrapping at all) and best-before dates.

The Luton shop will be fitted with Lush's new shop design, which is currently being rolled out nationwide. A country kitchen table in the centre of the store will provide a consultation area that will encourage customers to sit and discuss their skincare needs with one of Lush's expert consultants, ensuring the customer gets what they want from their visit. Lush believes this new look encourages a laid-back shopping experience, with friendly expert advice.

A lot of thought goes into the environmental impact of Lush shops. All of the wood that is used in The Mall Luton has been sustainably sourced (i.e. from sustainably managed forests), low toxic paint has been used and Lush has reduced it's use of MDF by using black paint to create the blackboard look.
