What's on - Cress to Impress! Kids With Green Fingers Wanted for Funday Sunday
18 June, 2010
The Mall Luton are inviting all children to the next free Funday Sunday Kids Club event on Sunday 25th April to make "Crop Tops": bio-degradable plant pots filled with compost and cress seeds, and decorated by the children to look like funny faces!
The Mall Monster and his team will be on hand to demonstrate some very basic planting techniques and also to explain to the children the importance of eating five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day.
"We want to show kids how easy it is to grow things and that it can be fun and good for the environment too", says Lavinia Holland, Marketing Manager of The Mall Luton, "Children can start to learn how to produce fresh food and begin to understand that it is important to eat healthily and follow a balanced daily diet - whilst having fun at the same time, of course!".
The first 100 children to take part in the event will be given a special complimentary 'Eco' gift - a set of cool twig colouring pencils!
Funday Sundays occur on the last Sunday of each month between 11am and 4pm and are free for all children. At the next event on 25th July, the team from The Mall Luton will be making Mr. Potato Heads using real potatoes!
