What's on - St George's Square Entrance of The Mall Luton Closed for Next Stage of Development
07 June, 2010
The Mall Luton is advising local shoppers that the St George's Square entrance to the shopping centre will be closed for one month between 12 June and 12 July 2010. During this time, major works will be carried out to install new escalators, lifts, entrance doors and flooring.
Both of the entrances on Bute Street (from George Street and Silver Street) will be open as normal, giving access to The Mall, The Mall car park, Galaxy and the Strathmore Hotel. Central car park will also remain open throughout this period.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused while the St George's Square entrance is closed." explained Lavinia Holland, Marketing Manager at The Mall Luton. "We will be placing lots of additional signs in the area which we hope will assist our customers during this closure. Wilkinsons and other shops in that mall will remain open as usual throughout".
The St George's Square development and extension of The Mall Luton is due to be completed by the end of 2010 and will provide, alongside the fresh new look, over 75,000 sq ft of high-quality retail space, with new cafes and restaurants opening onto the recently redeveloped square. TK Maxx will be the new anchor tenant for the development with Argos relocating back in a new larger store.
Shoppers are invited to call The Mall management team on 01582 412636 if they need any further assistance or information regarding the closure of this entrance.
