What's on - The 2010 FIFA World Cup Inspires Kids at The Mall Luton!

Local Children celebrated the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa at last weekend's free Funday Sunday event in The Mall Luton. The children made ethnically inspired African shields and then posed with their finished art pieces for a photograph that was printed and placed into a personalised Father's Day card to give to their Daddies on Sunday 20th June.

The Mall Monster and his team were on hand to help the little warriors create the shields using African design templates, and the first 100 children to take part were given a complimentary wooden African animal toy.

"The 2010 FIFA World Cup is taking place on the African continent for the first time in history, so this was a unique opportunity for kids to learn about African art, whilst making a card for their Dads and Grandads." Says Lavinia Holland, Marketing Manager at The Mall Luton.

Funday Sundays occur on the last Sunday of each month between 11am and 4pm and is free for all children to participate. The next Funday Sunday falls on 27 June 2010 and children will be invited to make earth-friendly art in celebration of Enviromall.

This year, Father's Day falls on Sunday 20th June 2010.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa kicks off on Friday 11th June.
