What's on - Luton Kids Crowned Merry Men and Women at This Month's Funday Sunday
26 April, 2010
The Mall Luton was packed with excited merry men and women last Sunday as local children made Sherwood Forest headgear at the fourth Funday Sunday Kids' Club, including Maid Marion crowns and Robin Hood hats - all in celebration of the release of the new Robin Hood film, which will be in cinemas from 14th May 2010.
The Funday Sunday Kids' Clubs are free workshops that take place in the shopping centre on the last Sunday of every month. The Mall Monster and his team used their artistic skills to help mini men and women use feathers and jewels to create their crowns. Toy Spring lambs were given out to the first 100 children who joined in the fun.
"It was lovely to see the children enjoying making their beautiful hats and they all looked so proud when they got to wear them home and show-off their creative skills", says Lavinia Holland, marketing manager of The Mall Luton, "The story of Robin Hood is such a classic tale that gets retold with each generation and, with the UK film release on 14th May, it's great to have a bit of topical fun with the kids."
Funday Sundays occur on the last Sunday of each month between 11am and 4pm and are free for all children to participate. At the next event, on Sunday 30th May, children will be making bespoke photo cards for Father's Day.
ENDS.
