What's on - Giving Tree 2007

Throughout December, the Mall Edgware once again ran the annual Giving Tree Appeal.  A total of 79 gifts were donated, as well as 400 bags of chocolate coins from the Mall.  These have been donated to Barnet Gingerbread, who support single parent families and disadvantaged children in the local area.

Shoppers bought extra presents to donate to the appeal.  These ranged from books and toys to jewellery and clothing.  The gifts have been collected by Nina Gentry from Barnet Gingerbread and were distributed to children at their annual Children's Party held on Sunday 23 December.

Angela Greenlees, General Manager of the Mall Edgware, said: "This time of year can be financially difficult for many people, so it's amazing that so many local shoppers bought one extra present to brighten up a little boy or girl's Christmas.  The Mall's Giving Tree Appeal reflects the importance of putting something back into the community and I wish to thank everyone for their kindness."

Nina Gentry of Barnet Gingerbread said: "The little things at this time of year really make a difference to children in care and they were delighted with their gifts.  Thank you to all the shoppers in The Mall Edgware who kindly donated to the appeal."
