BIG-HEARTED SHOPPERS HELP THE MALL
RAISE OVER £7,800 FOR CHARITY
The Mall Camberley has announced that over £7,800 was raised in The Mall for local charities over the course of 2011 thanks to donations from generous shoppers.
The much-needed funds have been raised for charities such as the British Legion Poppy Appeal, British Heart Foundation and the Mayor's Charity Appeal as a result of The Mall's charity programme, Mall Cares.
The initiative has been designed to support local charities, encouraging shoppers, retailers and the Centre Management team to work together for local, community-based worthy causes.
The Mall Camberley boosted funds with fundraising events held in The Mall, which included British Heart Foundation gift wrapping event this Christmas, as well as inviting charities into the Mall to fundraise and promote themselves as part of the local community.
One organisation which has benefited from the kindness of shoppers is the Farnborough & District branch of Parkinson UK who collected £515 through activity in The Mall in 2011. The Mall is keen to continue to support local charities in raising vital funds.
Glen Fulton, General Manager at The Mall Camberley commented: "To have raised over £7,800 is a real achievement and is testament to the generosity of shoppers in Camberley. Hopefully this year will see us raise even more money for some fantastic causes."
The Mall Camberley is part of a portfolio of 9 shopping centres across the UK, which together have raised over £4 million since the Mall Cares programme began in 2007.
