The latest shots of The Mall Blackburn redevelopment show that work on the scheme is progressing well.
The redevelopment is now at the stage where final works to the exterior building envelope are in progress, creating a watertight structure to allow interior works to progress.
Internal fit-out works to the new scheme have commenced, including mechanical and electrical work, floor screeding, plaster boarding and partition works.
On the Church Street and Ainsworth Street elevations, contractors, Vinci Construction, have been busy installing three and a half thousand terracotta tiles, which will form part of the final finished look and design on the new building.
In the existing centre, refurbishment works continue with the installation of new floor tiles, together with ongoing work to the ceiling finishes.
The £66m redevelopment of The Mall Blackburn is on schedule for completion in summer 2010.
