What's on - 1000 Faces of the Mall Comes to Walthamstow

The 1000 faces of E17 was a unique art project in 2007 that aimed to capture
1000 images of the local community in a photographic celebration of the cultural
diversity existing in today's Britain and in particular Walthamstow, East London.

The Mall asked Hal Satterthwaite, the artist behind the original 1000 Faces of Walthamstow, to re-create the project on a national scale by visiting our 23 Malls across the UK and capture a snapshot of each local community.

During the 11 week tour Hal took 35,000 photographs of 50 people from each
Mall which have produced an extraordinary work of art - a creative representation
of that community.

The display Hal created using pictures from throughout the UK will be on display
at The Mall, Walthamstow from Wednesday 27 August to Sunday 7 September.
