Warrior Princess

Autumn / Winter 2007 saw hair take centre stage on the catwalk. Heavy fringes, strong colour and couture cuts saw hair become edgy and urban.

Essential is a neutral, matt and flawless face that will show off the strong eye colour and highlight of the hair.

Synthetic candy pink lips add an edge of girlish sweetness, and a doll like charm to an edgy aggressive look.

How to get the look...

Skin
Create a neutral matt face with a pale foundation.

Eyes
Use an eye shadow brush and a black powder to build up depth and definition around the eye. Encircle the eye with a deep soft cloud of darkness, taking the colour from the crease to the brow. Use a rose shadow on the inner half of the lid, and black for the outer edge. Feather black shadow under the eye and along the outer edge. Add a slick of balm on the lid and a dash of metallic liner to the centre of the eye. Apply a thickening mascara in black.

Lips
Choose a candy pink lipstick, highlight the cupid's brow with a slick of silver.

Hair
Give the hair movement by working wax into the roots. Twist random strands of hair between the fingers to add texture.

Nails
Two tone nails continue the textural interest. Paint nails with a dark base colour. Apply a second coat of dark colour and while the nails are still wet; use a cocktail stick dipped in a bright shade to swirl into the polish. Allow to dry well, then apply a protective clear top coat.
