It's a Fine Line
Winter sees summer's neon get glamourous as it moves from fashion to the face. Acid bright eye shadow struck through with a two step eyeliner, gives added intensity and power to modern rock chick eyes.
Research conducted by Superdrug has shown that over the past two years customers are becoming more adventurous with their cosmetic colour choices. From a nation of neutrals and subdued good taste, the make-up aisles have exploded with a rainbow of modern colour.
How to get the look...
Face
Use a pearlescent moisturizer on the skin for a dewy raw effect. Disguise blemishes and under eye shadows with an illuminating concealer. Contour cheeks with a sweep of bronzer for added shimmer and a subtle healthy gleam.
Eyes
With steady hand use a soft black eye liner pencil to encircle the eye to create an elongated dramatic shape with a finishing flourish at the outer edge. With a steely confidence and a steady hand, over-paint the pencil line with a liquid liner to give an eye-catching sheen, mimicking the retro chic of an old vinyl LP.
Use a soft eye shadow brush to blend orange and white eye shadows across the eye, following the shape of the liner. To add texture to the block of colour we used three different types of shadow - matt, sheer and shell.
Use black mascara and while the lashes are still wet tip the ends with a dust of metallic effect powder.
Lips
Contrast the power of the eyes with fragile lips kissed with a slick of lip gloss with a natural hint of colour.
Hair
Graphic powerful eyes and striking colour is matched with contrasting flowing carefree hair. Individual strands of naturally dried hair are highlighted with a light catching serum.
