Capital & Regional has submitted a planning application for a £4.5 million refurbishment of The Mall Camberley.
The centre, which attracts 9.7 million visitors a year, forms an integral part of Camberley’s retail and leisure offer. The concept for the refurbishment has been created by designers Silver & Co, with Chapman Taylor acting as delivery architect.
Mark Bourgeois, Executive Director at Capital & Regional said: “Capital & Regional has been a long term investor in Camberley, and these refurbishment plans form part of a wider set of initiatives for Camberley that we are working up with Surrey Heath Borough Council. Camberley has so much to offer as a retail and leisure destination and with focused investment has huge potential for further growth.”
Karen Whelan, Chief Executive at Surrey Heath Borough Council said: “The Council is pleased to see this first phase of investment in The Mall coming forward. This is the first step in the delivery of our shared vision for the future of Camberley.”
Capital & Regional received a positive response to the public consultation held at the end of 2013, and the refurbishment will be formally presented on the 23rd March 2016 to give retailers an idea of what the completed project will look like.
The Mall Camberley comprises approximately 400,000 sq ft retail and leisure accommodation. Anchor tenants include Primark, House of Fraser, Topshop, Argos, River Island, Boots, and Sainsbury’s.
