BIG PLANS FOR SMALL BUSINESS

Global Entrepreneurship Week unveils success story to 1000 businesses: 'Daisy's Dog Deli' announces expansion plans

Lisa Gosling, last year's winner of 'Make Your Mark in The Mall', has announced her success and expansion plans today to 1000 business executives at Global Entrepreneurship Week after winning the unique business competition backed by the government backed initiative.

Speaking at the event, Lisa revealed her extraordinary journey of success, turning a simple, unique business idea into a thriving enterprise. Her business, 'Daisy's Dog Deli', has seen sales increase by an impressive 12% within the first three months of trading, and she has exciting expansion plans into at least two other Malls. In addition to increasing staff levels, Lisa is about to launch a new website and Christmas range and a loyalty card has been launched to attract and retain new customers, which includes the Queen's corgies!

Lisa, who beat 141 entrants in last year's competition, says "I've had a great year. Since winning this competition I have managed to grow The Deli range, test and fine tune the customer offering and sort the logistics of running a business front and back of house. Just the relief of not having to worry about rent when focusing on the running of the business has been a tremendous benefit."

After winning 'Make Your Mark in The Mall' Lisa extremely pleased with the amount of assistance received from TVs 'The Apprentice' 2005 winner and founder of The Bright Ideas Trust, Tim Campbell. He comments: 'It's been a pleasure to help such a deserving winner; Lisa's business is running smoothly and she has set a very high standard for this year's entrants.'

'Make Your Mark in The Mall' is aimed at encouraging fresh, emerging talent, ensuring that Britain's retail industry benefits from small businesses that may otherwise struggle to get off the ground. The competition enables entrants the opportunity to test their business concepts on a Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU) with the outstanding candidate being rewarded with a 'retail start up package*' that offers six months free trading.
