The Mall is committed to minimising its impact on the environment and leading its competitors in the shopping centre business in the drive to reduce environmental impact. We recently launched EnviroMall, the first partnership accreditation scheme of its kind for shopping centres. The partnership brings together industry experts to help reduce emissions and waste, and raise awareness in Malls with the ultimate goal of achieving Self Sustainable Specification. The Mall has been monitoring and driving down its environmental impact since 1999. We have achieved significant success in this regard and strive to keep improving. Since 2004 we outperformed the Upstream benchmark for shopping centres, and are now recognised as the UK's most efficiently managed shopping centres in terms of minimising environmental impact.
