The do’s and don’ts for wedding guest style

Wedding season is upon us and almost all of us have one lined up in our social calendar.

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to your outfit, here’s a handy do’s and don’ts guide to make sure you hit the best-dressed guest list.

Do take a risk

A wedding is a perfect occasion to be a little daring in your choice. Take a risk and wear a dress, skirt or trouser suit in a summer floral print or a bold graphic pattern.

Your favourite high street stores are full of these styles that will earn you some serious style points. Complement this look with simple nude or black heels and a matching clutch bag.

Don’t wear white

You definitely do not want to outshine the bride on her special day so whatever you go for make sure you stay away from anything white or cream.

Instead, opt for vibrant yellows and energising oranges that are taking retailers by storm. From tailored shift dresses and elegant maxi skirts to floaty palazzo trousers, there is something to suit every figure and budget.

Do try something new

Everyone has a hairstyle they’ve been eager to try out so why not take the opportunity of a wedding to do something fancy with your locks.

Up do’s are perfect as your hair will be out of the way or why not get those curling tongues you’ve never used and create a loose curl for a lovely summer vibe.

Don’t go too high

At weddings you often spend most of the day on your feet so remember to leave those über high, super painful shoes at home and opt for something a little more practical.

Wedges are ideal if you still want to add some height while a pair of embellished sandals will look great under a maxi dress. Whatever you go for one thing is for sure you don’t want to miss dancing the night away!
